Sharon Drake's
background in Real Estate goes back to the late 1960s, when her father, a fellow Realtor, encouraged her to follow in his footsteps. Today, Sharon actively represents buyers and sellers with decades of skill, experience, and savvy. Sharon believes in a strong commitment to the Maine community, and that philosophy is reflected in the activity of the agency and its agents. Sharon has a personal commitment to be acknowledged as the most caring, committed, and professional real estate agent in Maine’s Midcoast Region.
Sharon has been very active in a number of community-wide efforts. She served on the board of Maine's First Ship, actively participated in Main Street Bath, and has been a long time supporter of a number of athletic programs in the Bath area. Sharon's passion for gardening, the Kennebec River, and the greater Bath community and history is obvious to anyone who meets her.
Sharon graduated from Colby College with a degree in Sociology and raised two children in Rye, New Hampshire before coming to Maine in the 1970s. Prior to becoming a Realtor, Sharon worked as a social worker for over a decade.
Curt Fish
is a full time broker and has two decades of experience in negotiation, regulatory law, and prudent decision making. Prior to joining the real estate industry, Curt practiced environmental law with several international law firms, guiding the development and environmental compliance of energy and natural resources projects for companies worldwide. Curtis also pioneered modern legal agreements to assist in the protection of marine and terrestrial biodiversity resources for the U.S. National Park Service and international Marine Protected Areas around the world, including in Yemen, Columbia, and Costa Rica.
Curt works with buyers and sellers at all price points. He prides himself on his attention to detail, market knowledge, and in-depth history with the marine environment here in Maine. Curt has assisted in the development of waterfront subdivisions, conservation efforts, island sales, and the sale of family legacies and large farmland properties. Curt has also assisted in the sale of the region's highest value inns, luxury homes and commercial properties. No job is too small, or too large!
Curt was raised in Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1986. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1990 and then Vermont Law School 1994. Curt earned a masters and a law degree in three years and then worked in Washington D.C for just under 10 years. Curt returned to Maine in 2001 after having worked in Europe, Africa, South America, and the Middle East on issues ranging from climate change to biodiversity conservation. Curt is an avid skier, sailor, and fisherman, and enjoys building, gardening, and kayaking. Be sure to meet his dog Bodhi.
Chris Warner
comes to Sharon Drake Real Estate after a career in commercial fishing, shellfish harvesting, and innovative ocean-floor leasing projects. Chris has received a great deal of local admiration for a project he spearheaded in Georgetown to create Maine’s first stewardship program for seeded shellfish aquaculture. This multi-disciplined pursuit has been recognized by many as a cutting edge development in the shellfish industry. As a father of three Chris knows the meaning of a full plate, and is known for keeping his clients well informed. Chris' experience in renovating several properties assists him in guiding clients through the process of estimating repairs, electrical and plumbing work, and evaluating new construction opportunities on undeveloped land.
Chris enjoys trout fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends. He brings a passion and humor to his work that is unlike any other Realtor we know. Chris has lived in the greater Bath area all of his life and offers a wealth of knowledge to all those new to the area.
Sarah Bourgoin
is a Maine native, having grown up in Freeport. Not only does she have a deep love for the beauty of her home state of Maine, but she has unique knowledge about the Mid Coast’s recreational and social attractions, making her a great choice as your Maine guide to real estate. Sarah lives in Freeport with her family and her dog, Banks. When she is not working with buyers and sellers Sarah might be at a football or soccer game, or maybe baking a cake.
Sarah joined Sharon Drake Real Estate in 2015 after a dozen years in the health field. She has a high standard of ethics, sharp instinct for value, keen sense of location, and is ever-attentive to buyers’ and seller’ needs and objectives—both short term and long term. While she enjoys exploring the outdoor adventure Maine offers, Sarah prides herself on her availability and enjoys keeping her clients informed and educated during the real estate process.
Kara Zech Thelen
has built her career on clear communication. From practicing real estate, to practicing law, to teaching law school, she keenly focuses on logical thinking, strategic problem solving, and clear writing. Her no-nonsense approach makes her an effective advocate for her clients.
Kara knows firsthand the importance of properly matching people to homes, having moved with her husband and 5 children into a 170-year-old historic home in downtown Bath. She and her family have fallen in love with Maine’s natural beauty and eclectic people.
Before real estate, Kara practiced law at a large international firm based in Detroit, Michigan. She then became a law-school professor, where she taught students how to conduct legal research and write legal documents in plain language, not legalese. She continues to teach the U.S. court and legal system, legal writing, and negotiation at The University of Maine School of Law and The University of Southern Maine in her spare time.
Also in her spare time, Kara enjoys art, hiking, and running after her kids. They’ve trained her well: she has completed eight marathons, including four Boston marathons. She and her knees hope that sailing becomes her next hobby.
Michael DePesa
brings to Sharon Drake a long history of problem solving, attention to detail, and multiple engineering degrees. Michael has traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States working on projects and developing automation solutions for countless companies. Michael's ability to guide clients through the maze of real estate sales is greatly enhanced by his prior career as an engineer.
Michael and his wife Sara purchased their home in Georgetown after looking for a small ocean front community with friendly people and a quiet area to enjoy kayaking, fishing, hiking and gardening. Both Sara and Michael work at a local Bed & Breakfast where they enjoy meeting guests from all parts of the world in a relaxing environment. They enjoy having their children and grandchildren visit on the island of Georgetown and soak up the best Maine has to offer every day!
Michael's clients also benefit from his years of personal experience buying, renovating, and selling condominiums and multi-family homes. If you are looking for an agent with attention to detail, renovation skills, and decades of project management experience you will benefit from spending time with Michael.
While assisting Sara with raising their three children Michael also volunteered for many community activities including Cub Scouts, baseball & basketball coaching, and served as Chairman of the School Maintenance Sub-Committee and as a member of the School Building Committee responsible for a multi-year High School renovation project. Michael makes the same commitment to his clients as he does his community.
